Communication Training Municipality of The Hague

At Mistral Support, every learning journey starts with analysis: what is happening now, what is already going well, and what the organization or group truly wants to learn.

For example, I was invited to design and deliver a communication learning journey for The Hague Municipality. Through consultation, we identified that the focus was not on communication in general, but on specific conversational skills such as influencing stakeholders and turning resistance into constructive dialogue.

In collaboration with the client, we explored the participants’ preferred learning styles. We also considered key practical constraints, such as what was feasible within the participants’ busy schedules. In this learning journey, we combined online modules with live practice sessions, allowing participants to immediately apply and develop their skills. A key element was ensuring that participants could put their learning into practice right away by working on a current case in which they wanted to make an impact.

Impact and reinforcement of learning are integral parts of my approach. At the end of the learning journey, participants presented their learning journey and results. After several weeks, a follow-up impact session was held to assess how participants had integrated their learning into daily practice. This was measured through 360° feedback from both participants and their stakeholders.

In short: our approach revolves around analyzing, creating, doing, and measuring. This leads to learning that doesn’t stay theoretical, but drives real, measurable change.
